Question #62315 (2009-09-12)
I had a been a part time painter althrough my life. I had
tried many styles and forms. some of them are realistic and
some of them are abstract. I do not want to an illustrative
painter. I want to be a fine art painter. However, I feel
that many time my paintings have more of illustrative
flavor. How would you advise me to become more of a fine art
painter?
Answer(s):
Good Afternoon
Thank you for your question regarding becoming a fine
art painter. There are a number of great local artists who
you can contact to get more information on art. The local
Arts and Crafts Guild would be a great place to start. The
current president, Margie Cunningham can be contacted at
780-743-9701.
The guild often showcases artwork locally. The library
has art on display until October, so please feel free to
drop by and check it out.
We also carry books on painting techniques as well. For
more information please call Adult Reference at 780-743-7073
Thank You
