Question #74667 (2010-07-01)
Hi, I'd like to learn how to research companies so that I
can decide whether or not to buy their stocks. Can you
recommend some online and print resources? Thank you for
your help!
Answer(s):
Thank you for your query concerning investment
information.
Our E-Library has a section titled Business,
Directories, Investment and Careers. This can be found under
the heading of "Subject Find"
The electronic resources available to you remotely, from
your home computer are Mergent Online and Mergent
WebReports, Valueline Investment Survey Reports Online,
Business and Company Resource Centre and Business Source
Complete. Financial Post is only available from one of our
library computers. You might want to look at some of the
other databases in this list to see if they might help you
in your decision making process. In addition to these
electronic sources, the main library, Castell, has an
Investment Area where we keep numberous financial and
investment publications. These do not circulate so you must
view them in the library only. We retain such titles as the
Moneyletter, Successful Investor and Doig's Digest to
mention just a few.
We hope this information is helpful. If you require
clarification or help with any of this, please feel free to
call the Business, Science and Social Science department at
the Castell branch.
Thank you for using AAQ.
