Greetings! I am a Canadian author and wonder if you can
help me. I am looking for the birthplace, birth date, and
death date (if applicable) of pilot Barney Bent and
maintenance engineer Alf Stinger, both ex-RCAF members in
the 1940s. They joined pilot Carlyle Clare Agar (1901-1968)
of Lion’s Head, Ontario, in establishing Okanagan Air
Services, Ltd. in 1947. Any information that you may be able
to provide in this regard would be most appreciated. Thanks!

- Question 73354 asked on 2010-05-18 14:53:33
How many days did it take settlers to travel from Winnipeg
to Edmonton by train (say, on the Canadian Northern Railway)
circa 1910? Also, did the CNoR have open-section type cars
with pairs of facing seats whose cushions could be slid
together to make berths? If settlers were bringing with them
farm implements and equipment such as a sulky rake or
plough, as well as livestock, would these have been carried
in conventional stockcars, or in combination cars in which
the men could sleep in the larger compartment at one end of
the car while trunks, crats and hat bags occupied the
smaller compartment at the other end?
