Democrats or republicans?....vietnam war? i wrote in my research work ( which Ive already submitted it)that the vietnam war was a good opportunity for republicans to show themselves solid in contrast with demcrats . i wrote ""....Through concentrating on Iraq issue, Republicans wanted to reaffirm what the public longtime believed about their strong political direction towards the international crisis. As 2002 polls indicated, Americans trusted the Republican Party by a wide margin on international security issues rather than Democrats. This public perception was built after the Vietnam War during which the Republican President succeeded to turn the war out to be a victorious military campaign and showed Democrats as unwise when they voiced their opposition to the war . Comparing the Republican Party strong stand in dealing with international crisis in general and Iraq in specific to the weak positions by Democratic opponents, Republicans could drive the public to vote for them in the mid-term elections....."" however when i read about the vietnam war i found that it was a failure is there something right in the quote if my teacher ask me "why do you consider the vietnam war a success, what should i say. please i need your help and i will be thankfulllllllllll by te way i am not an american and i have little knowledge about the american history and politics
