Question 84996 asked on 2011-10-18 20:56:14

Hi, I am hoping to locate a detailed map of Edmonton from 1990. Specifically, I'm wanting to find out the exact locations of places I remember going to when I was a small child, but which I do not know or are not certain as to the names or addresses for. The area I am interested in for this is somewhere in the vicinity of 118ave - 102ave, and 82st - 97st. The information I'm wanting to obtain in regards to this area includes: - business locations (preferably labelled on the map, if possible, instead of a written list) - road features, such as medians, right-lane-must-exits, train crossings, parking, chicanes, and diagonal diverters. How would I go about finding this kind of map(s)? Is it even possible to obtain/view such a map? If not, what kind of sources would be best for me to consult? Thanks - I appreciate any help you may be able to provide for me :)

Question 86093 asked on 2011-12-17 09:26:33

Edmonton AB- There was a fire, I believe it was in winter along the north side of Whyte Avenue between 103 and 104 Streets. Sometime after 1980. I am trying to find out which businesses were affected. I believe there used to be a wonderful old used bookstore called the Antiquarian. My friend says it was the Wee Book Inn which is there at present. Maybe it was both. I have tried to search newspaper archives (although not thoroughly) to find an answer to no avail. Can you help me?
