I asked about a western novel I read over 10 years ago about a ex-pinkerton. Thank you for your reply "The series you are looking for is "Holmes on the Range mysteries" by Steve Hockensmith, and the book's title is "On the wronf track"." but its not the right book or series. That one is about brothers (and this one dosent have family other than horse & dog) and that was written only a couple of years ago long time after I read the book I'm searching for!
